Scheduling Rules

Your spectrometer usage is "unlimited"

"Reservations" only apply to appointments still in the future.
Reservation privileges are limited.
To reserve additional instrument time you need to keep signing-up after using the spectrometer for the allowed scheduling block of time.
If you cannot make a scheduled appointment, it is expected that you enter the FACES Scheduling system to delete your reservation as soon as possible. The penalty for "no shows" is blocked access to the scheduling software for one week, although spectrometer usage is still fully permitted.

Automated Routine Spectroscopy

Avance III 400

"Walk-up" spectrometer with sample changer for "standard" or "survey" spectroscopy. Samples are placed into designated holders. The experiment is defined from a list. Results are delivered via email. Samples are retrieved later from a group box.

Interactive Routine Spectroscopy

DPX 200 and Avance 300

"Reservations" only apply to appointments still in the future.
Prime time: 07:00-19:00, 15 minute blocks, up to two reservations.
Non-prime time: 19:00-07:00 (overnight) one reservation.
Fridays and Saturdays are non-prime time.
Cancellations must be made at least 30 minutes prior to avoid risk of a penalty.
Users who have reservations on the spectrometer are given priority for usage.

Advanced Spectroscopy

Avance 500 and Avance III 600

"Reservations" only apply to appointments still in the future.
Per person reservation: one block of time, up to 24 hours.
Per group reservation: up to 24 hours.

"Tuesday and Wednesday reservations are limited to three hour blocks.

Cancellations must be made at least 30 minutes prior to avoid risk of a penalty.
Users who have reservations on the spectrometer are given priority for usage, IF and only if the user has arrived ON TIME.
